Privacy policy

Effective 4 November 2026. This policy explains what information Fuel Route Guide (gasbuddyapk.com) handles and why. In short: we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, we do not use advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

What we do not collect

Fuel Route Guide has no user accounts, sign-up forms or advertising. Fonts and images are served from this site, so reading a page does not send your details to font, advertising or social media companies. We never ask for your location.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how many people visit the site, which pages they read and how they arrived (for example from a search engine). When you load a page, your browser sends Google information such as the page address, the referring page, your browser and device type, screen size and an approximate location (city or region) derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<ID>) to tell new visits from return visits. They last up to two years. We see only aggregated reports, not information that identifies you, and we do not use Google Analytics for advertising or combine it with other data. Google may process this information in the United States and elsewhere; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

To opt out, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use a content blocker, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The tools and guides on this site work the same either way.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used only to keep the site secure and working, and it is not used to identify or profile visitors.

Tools that run in your browser

Trip cost calculator and gas price converter: the numbers you enter are calculated in your browser and are never sent to us.
City search: the city you type is added to the page address (for example /locations/?q=toronto) and matched in your browser.
Fuel logbook: your fill-ups are saved in your browser’s local storage on your device only. We cannot see them. You can delete them at any time with “Clear log” or by clearing your browser data.

Vehicle recall check

When you use the vehicle recall check, your browser sends the model year, make and model you choose directly to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s public recall service (api.nhtsa.gov) to fetch results. No name, VIN or other personal information is sent, and Fuel Route Guide does not receive or store your search. NHTSA’s handling of requests is covered by its own privacy policy.

Emails you send us

If you email hello@gasbuddyapk.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to read and reply to your enquiry or correction, keep it no longer than needed for that purpose, and do not add you to a mailing list or share it with third parties. Please do not send payment details, passwords or other sensitive information.

Links to other websites

Our guides link to other sites, including GasBuddy, the Apple App Store, Google Play, fuel retailers and government services. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.

Children

This site is a general-audience fuel guide and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, including under Canada’s privacy laws, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and to have it corrected or deleted. The only personal information we hold directly is the content of emails you send us; analytics data is held in aggregated form in Google Analytics. To make a request, email hello@gasbuddyapk.com.

Changes to this policy

If we add a feature that handles information differently, such as a contact form or a new analytics or advertising service, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
