Gas prices in Mississauga: compare fuel savings with an existing shopping trip

In Mississauga, the cheapest fill is often the one you tack onto errands you were running anyway. A club station near the warehouse you already visit, or a station in the plaza next to the grocery store, can beat a lower price that needs its own trip. We don’t show live prices; this page helps you work out which stop is really cheaper.

What’s in the price at a Mississauga pump

Mississauga pays exactly the same fuel taxes as Brampton, Oakville or Toronto, so taxes don’t explain station-to-station gaps. As of November 2026:

  1. Ontario’s gasoline tax is 9.0¢ a litre on unleaded and is included in the pump price, not itemised on your receipt (Ontario Ministry of Finance).
  2. The federal excise tax is suspended until 31 January 2027, then 5¢ a litre from 1 February to 31 March 2027, and 10¢ again from 1 April 2027 (Finance Canada).
  3. HST at 13% (CRA) is worked out on the price after the per-litre taxes are added (NRCan).
  4. The consumer carbon charge has been gone since 1 April 2025 (Finance Canada).

People also search “gas prices Mississauga prediction”. The one change you can plan for is the excise tax returning in two steps in early 2027; the rest depends on wholesale markets and each retailer.

Which Mississauga Costco locations sell gas?

This is the question behind “GasBuddy Mississauga Costco”. We checked Costco’s own pages for three Mississauga warehouses on 4 November 2026, and only two list a gas station:

WarehouseAddressGas station listed?
C Mississauga1570 Dundas St EYes (Costco)
N Mississauga5900 Rodeo DrYes (Costco)
S Mississauga3180 Laird RdNo (Costco)

If you shop at Laird Road, the fuel stop isn’t free: you’d need a separate trip to another warehouse or a nearby non-club station. Costco fuel is members-only, and Costco says the price online may not match the pump. Our Costco gas guide covers membership and payment.

Compare fuel savings with an existing shopping trip

Only the extra distance the fuel stop adds belongs in your calculation. Counting the whole shopping trip as a “fuel detour” overstates the cost; ignoring a separate trip understates it. Compare the route with the fuel stop against the route you’d drive anyway.

With so many highways through Mississauga, it’s tempting to hop on for a cheaper station a few exits away. Don’t add the 407 to a fuel run: it charges by zone and vehicle class, and without a transponder you’re billed by plate (407 ETR rates).

Using GasBuddy Mississauga results

  • Mark stations near places you already go: your usual route, your grocery store, your warehouse club. Directory listings for Mississauga include both club and non-club stations (example directory, checked 4 November 2026; recheck before relying on it).
  • Estimate the extra kilometres each stop adds to the trip you’d make anyway.
  • Compare like with like: same grade, similar report age, and the same payment method. A club price only counts if you’re a member.
  • Confirm at the pump. For current reports, start on the official GasBuddy website.

Mississauga worked example: errand stop or separate trip?

This is a hypothetical comparison, not a quoted Mississauga price. You’ll buy 45 litres. A station is 4 cents per litre cheaper than the one on your usual route. Case A: it’s beside a store you’re visiting anyway, adding 3 km. Case B: it needs its own trip of 10 km.

ItemCalculationResult
Gross saving (both cases)45 × 4/100C$1.80
Case A: extra driving fuel cost3 km × 8 L/100 km ÷ 100 × C$1.60 per litreC$0.38
Case A: net savingC$1.80 − C$0.38C$1.42
Case B: extra driving fuel cost10 km × 8 L/100 km ÷ 100 × C$1.60 per litreC$1.28
Case B: net savingC$1.80 − C$1.28C$0.52

Same price gap, very different result. Tied to an errand you keep C$1.42; as a separate trip the driving swallows 71% of the saving and you keep 52 cents, before your time. Run your own numbers in the trip fuel cost calculator.

Will Mississauga gas prices go up tomorrow?

We don’t forecast prices. For a “tomorrow” number, Gas Wizard covers Mississauga (Gas Wizard) and credits its wholesale forecasting to Dan McTeague of Canadians for Affordable Energy (about). It’s an estimate. If you’re passing a club station on tomorrow’s errands anyway, the errand-stop arithmetic above matters more than the forecast.

How do I count distance on a combined shopping trip?

Map the trip twice: once with the fuel stop, once without. The difference, including any extra return driving, is the number to use.
